In June 2015 we celebrated the registration of the National Trust’s 4000th covenant. Landowners around New Zealand are together protecting around 180,000ha of special places with their covenants — an area around the size of Stewart Island/Rakiura. This is something they can be very proud of, and something for the rest of New Zealand to also celebrate. Contributions from donors, benefactors, and financial members have made an important contribution towards achieving this marvellous milestone. Thank you so much for your support!
New memberships take around 4 weeks to process, which we do once a month, towards the end of the month. The time it takes to process a new membership depends on the time of the month the application has been lodged, the National Trust’s weekly internal accounting and payment scheduling, and confirmation of receipt of payment from our bank.
New members are encouraged to join in or around October. If people wish to join at other times the following formula will be used:
eg, Join in February 2016 — membership will expire on 31 October 2016. This may mean a shorter membership period in the first year of a new membership.
eg, Join in August 2015 — membership will expire on 31 October 2016. This may mean a longer membership period in the first year of a new membership.
